Who inspects your site’s access scaffolds? Are they certified?
If your organization employs the use of supported access scaffolds (Frame, System or Tube & Clamp) then you have an obligation to ensure that the structures are inspected and documented by a Competent Person (other than the user) on a regular basis.
When do the scaffolds need to be inspected?
Most health and safety regulations and standards require that scaffolds are inspected by a Competent Inspector on a daily or weekly basis. This may be a more frequent requirement depending on the usage and operating environment for the scaffolds.
What is a Blended Learning Program?
A blended learning program is an educational approach that combines online educational materials and activities with traditional classroom methods. This means that students learn both independently and collaboratively, using a variety of digital and physical resources.
Here are some of the key characteristics of blended learning programs:
- Flexibility: Students can learn at their own pace and in their own time, which can be especially helpful for those who have busy schedules or learning disabilities.
- Personalized learning: Teachers can tailor the program to meet the individual needs of each student, which can help students to learn more effectively.
- Increased engagement: Students are more likely to be engaged in their learning when they are using a variety of methods and resources.
- Improved collaboration: Students have more opportunities to collaborate with their peers, both online and in person.
- Deeper understanding: Blended learning programs can help students to develop a deeper understanding of the material by providing them with multiple ways to learn it.
How long will the course take?
The program will vary depending on your own pace, but on average – it will take approx. 7-9 hours to complete.
Do I need access to scaffolds on my site?
Yes, there are practical inspection exercises where you will need some erected scaffolds to inspect and learn with.
Does it cover all scaffolds?
This program covers basic supported access scaffolds (Frame, System or Tube & Clamp). Any scaffolds requiring professional engineering, or special features like suspension systems – will require additional inspection measures.
How long is the certification valid for?
The certification is valid for three years from date of completion. This period includes access to instructors and our Online Resource Library for technical support.
